Kenner's Rivertown is a 16-block historic district and sits along the Mississippi River. Here you will find a variety of cultural and family attractions, such as a space and science center, planetarium and megadome cinema, and a weekly farmers market. You will also find an award winning 300-seat performance theater featuring Broadway musicals, comedies, and dramas.

Treasure Chest Casino is a one-stop destination for Kenner nightlife. There are 950 slots and 30 table games, along with dining options and live music. There are also bars that feature live music in the area such as the Tavern On Vets and the Southshore Tavern on Williams Boulevard.

Kenner is situated between Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River. Along the shores of Lake Pontchartrain is Laketown's 30-acre park, containing amenities for all ages, including a boat launch, fishing piers, bike path, gazebo, and picnic areas. Here you will enjoy events ranging from concerts to car shows.

It is also the home of the Pontchartrain Center, a 70,000 square-foot convention center. For other activities, Kenner offers 12 other parks throughout the community, a golf course at the Chateau Golf and Country Club, and volleyball at Coconut Beach a competitive sand volleyball complex featuring tournaments and leagues throughout the year.

The Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy Charter School provides early childhood education for students in kindergarten through eighth grade to explore health and science topics and careers. The Alfred Bonnabel Magnet Academy High School is a magnet school that focuses on college-prep curriculum for its students. There are eight public elementary schools, one public middle school, and one public high school operating within the City of Kenner.
