Arts & Culture
Luling hosts the annual Alligator Festival at the Westbank Bridge Park, which is in its 33rd year. The festival is a fundraiser that helps raise money for local college scholarships and features live music, arts and crafts on display, food from local restaurants, and much more. During Mardi Gras, the residents of Luling have their own parade called the Krewe of Lul which features high school bands, homemade truck floats, and competitions for floats and costumes.

New Orleans Daiquiris is a popular spot and downtown Luling has many restaurants and bars including local favorites Zydecos and El Mexicano. Destrehan, just across the river, and Thibodeaux, a short drive, also have plenty of nightlife options.

Luling has large expanses of green space and plenty of public parks that are extremely popular with families in the area. Rathborne Park has a small baseball field, a mile-long bike/running path, and a playground for kids. Lagattuta Park is a big open field where local recreational leagues practice and play football and baseball games.

Golfers will love Grand Ridge Country Club, which has a driving range, a fun course, and tennis courts as well.

Luling is a very safe place to live, as its suburban feel is complimented by a wide, spread out geographical layout which is conducive to quiet, sleepy nights. In May 2011, St. Charles Parish built a brand new, 39,000 sq. ft. Law Enforcement Complex that enhances the local police department.

Luling has a strong school system, and while many residents send their students to public and private high schools in neighboring towns, the elementary schools are widely regarded as very strong; Lakewood Elementary, Mimosa Park Elementary and Luling Elementary all have stellar reputations.
