Sometime referred to as the last frontier of Jefferson Parish, Avondale offers ample space for luxurious new homes on sprawling lots. It lies at the foot of the newly renovated Huey P. Long Bridge, which is the connection between the East and West banks of the Mississippi in Jefferson Parish. Also located in Avondale is the new NOLA Motorsports Park which boasts a racetrack and go-karts which reach speeds of up to 50 mph.

The state recently completed an extensive expansion of the Huey P. Long Bridge, resulting in increased economic activity on both sides of the Mississippi River.
