NOLA Top 10 “Best U.S. Place to Live Car-Free”
A new study by Citylab has found that the New Orleans region is one of the best large metros in America in which to live without a car.
To determine the ranking, Citylab considered four key variables: the share of households that don’t have access to their own vehicle, the share of commuters who take transit to work, the share of commuters who bike to work, and the share of commuters who walk to work. All of the data came from the American Community Survey’s five-year estimates for 2017 and covers all 382 U.S. metropolitan areas.
